Friday Cat Blogging.
Kibble liberation day edition.
Miro is on what we call the "slow cat food" diet, where we dole out kibble bits a little at a time so he can digest what he eats instead of making those gross, "I don't feel so good" sounds that precede something even more distasteful. It's similar in some ways to the Italian "slow food" movement. The appreciation lies less in that good, wholesome food prepared in a leisurely fashion is important and more in that we don't have to hear the fuzzy one yark up an entire meal ten minutes after he wolfs it down. It also goes by the name of the Cat Food Retention Program.
Our fuzz friend is a bit less fuzzy these days. His breed, Devon Rex, are known to molt at times in adulthood. Topside, as in this picture, he has most of his fuzz, but the underside and his legs are a light shade of gray fuzzlets and skin, similar to what is on the back of his neck and top of his head right now. He should have a new coat by winter.
Strange cat, indeed.

How old is Milo? We have an older cat that recently started doing the "hork it down and hork it right back up again" thing. She's going on 12. I'm wondering if it's just age related.

Miro is 8 years old. No, his kibble tossing has been an issue since he was a young cat. Apparently, some cats are prone to this. There doesn't seem to be any apparent physiological or psychological issues with him and food. In other words, he's a healthy, happy cat who eats faster than he really should.
